Mob.Media -- Socially Aware Media

Based on industry projections, mobile media is expected to grow into a $12 billion global industry over the next five years. However, as a society, we understand very little about the connection between viral media, human behavior and social networks.

Our goal is to mathematically model mobile sharing and consumption, and its relation to the user's social network, context, location, proximity network, and media characteristics.

Questions that we are trying to answer include -- what makes a particular clip popular? What influences media propagation / diffusion? Is it possible to auto-infer interest, privacy or sharing settings for users? By better understanding these questions, we hope to create more seamless and intuitive mobile media experiences.
